Quickstart

Design a simple schema of students, courses and exams, and export it as an image.

1. Add two entities. Place an entity on the canvas from the toolbar, then a second one. Double-click each entity to name them STUDENT and COURSE.
2. Add identifiers. Select STUDENT, click Attribute, name it StudentId and toggle Identifier. Do the same for COURSE with Code.
3. Connect them. Add a relationship EXAM and place it between the two entities. Select it, click Connect and click STUDENT; repeat for COURSE. Add the attributes Date and Mark to EXAM.
4. Set cardinalities. Select the participation line on the STUDENT side and choose Card. → MultiOpt, (0,N): a student can take no exams or many. Select the line on the COURSE side and choose Multi, (1,N): every course has at least one exam.
5. Export. Open the Export menu and choose PNG, or click Save to keep an editable .er file.
