This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you use the website designerdb.io and the DesignerDB suite of tools (designER, designER basic, noER, designQT basic), pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Last updated: October 2026.
Data controller
The software and this website are developed by the MINDS group (Politecnico di Torino, Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24, 10129 Torino, Italy).

The website is technically managed by Flowygo (Alessandro Fiori), which acts on behalf of the controller as data processor for hosting and maintenance.
Data we process
Messages sent through the contact form
If you write to us, we process the name, email address and message you provide, only to reply to your request.
Usage and technical data
Like any website, our servers automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and date and time of the request. This data is used for security and to keep the service working.
Statistics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect aggregated statistics on how the website is used. Google may process the data on its own servers, including outside the European Union, under the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Third-party services
We do not use other third-party tools, advertising, social widgets or tracking services. The only external services are provided by Google:
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited), for the statistics described above, only if you accept analytics cookies;
- YouTube (Google), for the video tutorials linked or embedded in the documentation. When you watch a video, YouTube may set cookies and process data according to Google’s privacy policy.
The tools themselves are served from the polito.it and designerdb.io domains and do not load third-party trackers.
Cookies
The website uses technical cookies, necessary for it to work, and, only with your consent, analytics cookies and the cookies set by YouTube when you play a video. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the cookie settings icon at the bottom left of the page, and you can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
Purposes and legal basis
- replying to your messages: legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures requested by you (art. 6.1 b and f GDPR);
- security and operation of the website: legitimate interest (art. 6.1 f);
- statistics and video playback: your consent (art. 6.1 a), which you can withdraw at any time.
Retention
Messages are kept for the time needed to handle your request and then deleted, unless the law requires otherwise. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security reasons. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics service.
Recipients and transfers
Data is accessible only to the persons in charge at the MINDS group and to the technical provider mentioned above. It is not sold or disclosed to third parties, except to Google as described above. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, this happens on the basis of the safeguards provided by the GDPR (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format and withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).

We may update this policy, for example when new features are added. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
